The Parliament House attracts visitors in large numbers throughout
the year. As they go round the building they are curious to know the
history of the building, its architecture and the many-sided activities
which take place inside it. The Guide to Parliament House provides
information on all these matters. Since it was first published in 1955
many structural alterations have been made inside the building. It has,
therefore, become necessary to publish a revised edition of the publica
                           tion now.

It would not be out of place to acknowledge the valuable advice and
help rendered in various ways in the preparation of the original edition
of this guide by Shri G. B. DeolaEikar, Ex-Senior Architect and Shri T. H.
Dixon, Ex-Superintending Engineer of the Central Public Works Depart
ment, and the News Editors of "The Hindusthan Standard" and "The
                           Statesman".
The Photo Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
have kindly supplied a good number of photographs of the Parliament
House and its interior which find a place in this publication.
