and its President, 1935—45. Leader of the Opposition
in the Assembly, 1933. Earlier Judge, Madras High
Court, 1908—20 and officiated as its Chief Justice
during 1910 and 1919. Member, Royal Commission
on Public Services in India, 1913—15 and Bengal
Executive Council, 1921—25. Headed Indian Delega-
tion to Empire Parliamentary Conference, 1935 and
1937.
