Other portraits^which adorn the Central Hall are the portraits of the following
leaders :

(2) DadabhoyNovroji.
(3) Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
(4) LalaLajpatRai.
(5) Pandit Motilal Nehru.
(6) Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
(7) Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das.
(8) Gurudev Rubindranath Tagore.
(9) Shrimati Sarojini Naidu.
(10) Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
(11) Rajendra Prasad.
(12; Jawaharlal Nehru.
These portraits are of uniform size (about 70 < 50) and are covered with gilt-
edged frames. They were all unveiled in the Central Hall after independence. The
last portrait, that of Jawaharlal Nehru, was unveiled by President Radhakrishnan on
May 5, 1966.
Gilded Emblems : There are also 12 gilded emblems on the walls of the Central
Hall representing the following provinces of undivided India :
Madras Delhi
Bengal Baluchistan
Punjab Central Provinces
Burma Bihar and Orissa
Assam United Provinces of Agra and Oudh
North-West Frontier Province Bombay
