for three hundred pages. He was also permitted to
append his name at the end of the calligraphed
Constitution.
12. The. total cost in respect of printing the
Constitutions both in English and Hindi is estimated
to be about Rs. 62,500.
13. The Honourable the Prime Minister has
suggested that the minimum price of the printed
copies of the Constitution should be fixed at Rs. 50
per copy and that a number of copies should be auto
graphed by the President and the Honourable the
Speaker and should be sold at Rs. 100 per copy.
Honourable the Prime Minister expects that at least
Rs. 50,000 ought to be realised by the sale of these
copies. He is opposed to the free supply of copies to
anybody. Copies at a reduced price may be given to
well' known libraries,
14. Honourable the Speaker with the concurrence of
Honourable the Prime Minister has decided to pay as
honorarium to the artists at Santiniketan as follows: —
(1) Cover page ... Rs. 400
(2) Preamble ... Rs. 400
(3) First page (beginning of the First
Part) ... Rs. 200
(4) Each ornamented illumination ... Rs. 100
(5) Each intermediate page with
plain decoration ... Rs. 50
The expenditure incurred on materials used in con
nection with the illumination is to be treated under a
separate head. It is also estimated that the total cost
incurred in connection with the calligraphy, decora
tion and illumination and printing and binding of the
two editions of the Constitution will come to about
Rs. 1,80,000.
15. It has also been decided to send the calligraphed
pages to the Surveyor-General for printing in batches
